Capsule wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe is a minimalist collection of clothes that can be put together in different ways to cover a variety of outfits and occasions.This is usually achieved by buying what are considered to be "key" or "staple" items in coordinating colours.Capsule wardrobes appeared in American publications as early as the 1940s as small collections of garments designed to be worn together which harmonize in color and line.

In Indian context ,Capsule wardrobe contains,few pair of trousers (may be salwaars ,churidaars),parallels ,skirts, 2 pairs of shoes, a jacket and a bag, kurtaas, basic t-shirts. The basic idea behind it was to keep the wardrobe minimum and mix and match these few items with other few essential items and make it appear new every time one wears them.

Since the concept of fast fashion was introduced unknowingly by the biggest brands of the world in the subconcious mind of the consumer and now the result is that a consumer buys without needing it and ends up wearing it for 2-3 times and throws it away which endsup in landfills.
